How to care for acrylic markers

Acrylic markers have many advantages, from their covering properties to the ability to use them on virtually any surface without washing off or otherwise damaging the paint over time. Unlike regular markers, however, these acrylic markers need to be cared for. Learn how to care for acrylic markers and how to clean acrylic markers in this article

How to clean the tips?

Even if you are comfortable writing with your marker and feel that its maintenance is not necessary, you need to clean the tips in water once in a while. This will avoid future problems with clogging - with regular rinsing, the ink will flow beautifully smoothly from the marker. For example, you will avoid a situation where the marker starts to skip when drawing or even stops writing altogether.

To clean the nibs, remove them from the marker, place them in a bowl of clean, warm water, leave them there for a while and then rinse them under running water. After they have dried completely, insert them back into the marker.

How do you break down a fix that "strikes"?

Fixes can stop writing for several reasons:

Not enough ink in the tip - shake and pump

Dried tip - clean it according to the instructions above

Dried ink inside the marker - put the entire marker in a cup of warm water. It is possible that the pigment inside will dissolve and the marker will still be usable.
