How to fix acrylic paint on fabric
How to use acrylic paint or marker on textile?
If you have a brand new fabric, it is advisable to wash it before applying acrylic markers to increase adhesion. When applying paint, back your fabric with an impermeable backing to prevent transfer of paint to the opposite side of the fabric or work surface. Due to the different absorbency of the materials, the markers may spread. It is advisable to underpaint the picture with acrylic paint, then work with acrylic markers as you are used to, or, on the contrary, use the effect of blending the colours.
Fixation
After the paint has dried, run the iron over baking paper or another canvas to prevent transfer of the paint to the iron. Hand washing or machine washing on lower settings and delicate cycles is recommended.
