How to paint on porcelain
Strangely enough, people form a relationship with their favourite mug 🙂 people like stereotypes and drinking coffee or tea from "their mug" is therefore a very important ritual. Mugs are given as a gift, one buys it for work, gets it for good mood, and then enjoys its "presence" while drinking one's favourite beverage. We will show you today how you can paint such an ordinary porcelain mug and create a unique and original gift, either for yourself or for the pleasure of someone close to you.
As a motif we chose simple lavender flowers. We will need a porcelain mug, acrylic brush foam and fine tip markers.
First, degrease the surface you will be painting on. You can degrease with spring or synthetic alcohol. Then the mug is ready for painting.
Brush the lavender stems with gentle strokes.
Then add the purple flowers to the stems - just place the tip of the brush pen on the surface and the teardrop shape of the lavender flowers will form.
We make brush pen leaves that have an oblong shape. Let everything dry properly for at least half an hour.
Once the surface is dry, we use a fine-tipped marker to make small details - dots of dark and light purple - and we're done!
Let the painting dry. After that, it is necessary to fix the cups. Fixing is done with heat, so when you bake something in the oven, it's a good idea to add the mugs in there too. The fixing should be done at 160 degrees for one hour. The paint will become waterproof, but unfortunately it will not be abrasion resistant, so we do not recommend washing mugs painted in this way in the dishwasher. For better durability it is advisable to varnish the mugs with a varnish suitable for porcelain.
