How to store acrylic markers
We often get questions about how to store markers or what to do if they don't write. However, many problems with our, as well as other acrylic markers working on the pump principle (Posca, Pintor and others) can be prevented by proper storage.
How to do it?
Always store markers horizontally - a cosmetic case, basket or box can be used for storage, which you can decorate to your liking, for example with our Artmagico markers. Storing horizontally is best because it makes it easier to re-mix the colour inside the marker between uses, especially if the markers have been unused for a while.
Never store markers with the tip down. This can cause the tip to clog as thick pigment will build up on the top of the tip in this position. This can make it difficult to re-mix the colour and subsequently clog the valve.
It is also not advisable to store them with the tip up - it will be necessary to brush the marker more before reuse as the acrylic ink will accumulate at the bottom of the marker.
We'd love you to share with us what you store your markers in - post pictures in the comments on Facebook.
