Painted mugs
Painting your own mug is quick and easy with Artmagico markers. You can create a motif exactly to your liking. There's nothing better than enjoying your morning coffee or tea from a hand-painted cup :). The finished work can also serve as a beautiful gift for your loved ones.
What will we need?
- A mug
- Acrylic markers
Personally, I'm fond of white porcelain mugs from the Ikea department store, specifically from the 365+ collection. They have a 240ml capacity, but they also sell a larger version. They are very easy to paint on, have a great shape and it is not expensive.
Today I chose two of my favourite motifs, which are such a last memory of summer - strawberries and meadow flowers.
Strawberry motif
For the strawberry base I used raspberry and red markers with a tip width of 2-3 mm. Then I painted only with the thinnest 0,7 mm tips. After drying, I painted reflections on the strawberries with light pink paint. I then painted the stems with a dark and light green marker. Finally, I added the grains with black paint and added dots to the whole cup.
Meadow flower motif
Here I made do with only a black marker with a 0.7 mm tip. I combined different types of leaves and flowers around the circumference of the mug.
Finally, bake the cups in the oven at 180 °C for about 1 hour and let them cool. Afterwards, they can be repainted with a colourless water-based acrylic varnish for greater durability. The mugs must always be washed by hand only!
We believe that every morning will be happier with such a mug :)
About the author of the article:
My name is Marie Skoková. When I found a painted pebble on the street one day, I was tempted to try it too, so I started painting at night. I went back to what I had enjoyed all my childhood but had somehow forgotten during my life. Painting for me is a great relaxation, rest and most of all joy.
