Product information
How to activate acrylic markers?
Artmagico acrylic markers must be activated before use. All our products include instructions on how to do this. You will find instructions both on the boxes and directly on the body of the marker.
Shake the pen several times to mix the colour inside the pen.
Remove the cap and press the nib repeatedly so that the nib goes in and out of the pen, repeat this until the paint has flowed into the nib. Always perform this part ideally on test paper that is laid on a firm support (e.g. table).
Test the tint on the test paper to see if the colour is sufficiently mixed. If the paint is not mixed sufficiently, the marker trace may be watery. In this case, you need to mix properly and repeat the whole process.
You are ready to paint :)
Always close the pen properly with the cap.
How to store acrylic pens?
Always store acrylic pens in a horizontal position, you can read why in our article.
What surface can we use acrylic pens on?
Acrylic pens can be used on any material you can think of - from paper, stone, wood, plastic, rubber, porcelain, fabric and more. Find out how to do this and how to fix the colour on these materials in our article here.
What to do when acrylic markers stop writing
There can be several reasons why acrylic pens stop writing. If you've had your pens for a long time and use them really often, you've probably used up all the ink. But this doesn't have to be the case. It could be that you just have a clogged nib and the ink isn't flowing out.
This problem is easily solved. Clean the nib with a napkin and carefully remove it from the body of the pen. If you can't get the nib out easily, try using tweezers. Place the nib under warm running water and gently clean the nib with your fingers. The ink should come off the nib easily. After the ink water has stopped flowing from the nib, clean and dry the nib and then place it back into the pen and reactivate it as you did the first time you used it.
In the event that the ink cannot be washed from the nib or the nib is otherwise damaged, replacement nibs can be purchased.
Can the markers come into contact with food?
We do not recommend the use of acrylic markers on products that will come into contact with cooked food.
What if I get my clothes dirty while painting?
If you get your clothes dirty with acrylic markers or paints, you will most likely not be able to clean them, so we recommend choosing appropriate clothing for painting.
Are acrylic pens suitable for children?
We do not recommend the use of acrylic pens for children under 3 years of age, as they contain smaller parts that can be easily swallowed and choked on by children. For older children, pens are already suitable, but it is always up to the parent to judge how the child can handle this type of pen. As a reminder, acrylic paint and ink are waterproof when dry, and on most materials.
What nib sizes are available for acrylic pens?
Acrylic pens are currently available with 6 different tip types.
The extra fine nib has a 0.7mm nib size, this nib is plastic and particularly suitable for detailed work.
The fine nib produces a line with a diameter of approx. 1 mm, it is made of porous fibre.
With the medium nib, you can manage a line of approx. 2-3 mm depending on the slope of the pen and, like the fine nib, it is made of porous fibre.
The XL are extra thick markers, they have a large 10mm wide nib with sharp edges made of porous fibre.
Jumbo is the largest acrylic marker, its tip is a whopping 15mm and is also made of porous fibre.
Brush pen is a brush tip that is flexible and can be used to create a line between 1 - 3 mm.
Is it possible to buy spare tips?
